Plot Summary

On an ordinary damp day in October, advertising director Charles (Clive Owen) misses his train, but on the next train, he meets financial investment advisor Lucinda (Jennifer Aniston) because of a ticket, leaving a good impression on each other. At that time, Charles's daughter was suffering from diabetes, and he had to spare more energy to take care of her. At the same time, he suffered setbacks in his career. His wife was busy with work, and had no time to give him more emotional comfort. In the days that followed, Charles and Lucinda often met, and the two people with their own families became closer. Finally, after a date, they arrived at a hotel, but their solitude was soon broken. A stranger named Lalock (Vincent Cassel) broke in, threatened them with a gun, robbed them, and raped Lucinda. The two people who were worried about their private relationship being exposed could not rely on the law, while Larlock's extortion became increasingly frequent.
