Plot Summary

In 1928, in Los Angeles, USA, Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) worked at a telephone office switchboard and raised her son Walter (Gattlin Griffith) alone. Their life was simple and happy. However, their lives were soon disrupted, and one day when Kristin finished work, she found her son missing. Under public pressure, the corrupt Los Angeles police retrieved Walter five months later, but Kristin discovered that he was not her biological son. She repeatedly requested the police to clarify the facts and help her find the real Walter, but was repeatedly obstructed and accused, and even sent to a mental hospital on charges of obstructing police duties. Pastor Gustav Bregelber (played by John Malkovich), who has always been responsible for exposing police brutality, runs around calling out for the unfortunate fate of this poor woman. On the other hand, Detective Leicester (played by Michael Kelly) accidentally discovers a major serial child murder case while investigating an illegal immigration case.
