Description

Plot Summary

The story takes place in the 23rd century, when human technological development has reached the point where interstellar travel is possible. Spock (Zachary Quinto), a boy born on Vulcan in 2230, is often ridiculed and bullied by his colleagues because his mother Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder) is human. Father Sarek (played by Ben Cross) is a diplomat on Vulcan, and Spock has been struggling between serious Vulcan logic education and his human emotions since childhood. As he grew up, Spock met Kirk (played by Chris Pine), who also had great aspirations. Although they had constant conflicts, they gradually began to understand each other through various tasks and tests. The old captain of the Enterprise is Christopher Pike (played by Bruce Greenwood), and the crew includes medical officer "Old Bone" McCoy (played by Karl Urban), chief engineer Scott (played by Simon Pegg), communication officer Uhura (played by Zoe Saldana), helmsman Sulu (played by John Cho), and 17-year-old navigator - genius boy Chekhov (played by Anton Yelchin). And from the future, the elderly Spock (played by Leonard Nimoy) travels through time and tells Kirk that the remnants of the Romulan Empire, Nino (played by Eric Bana), have also returned to the present, and leads a large team to seek revenge. Nino destroys Spock's hometown of Vulcan, and his next target is Earth... This film won the Best Makeup Award at the 82nd Academy Awards. The most exciting Star Trek movie in 30 years, it marks the beginning of a new legend for Captain Kirk, and if the sequel dares to maintain the fast-paced style of this one, it will surely become the most undeniable box office bomb in the coming years. ——Empire is the best movie since Star Trek: Wrath of the Khan, and its audio-visual impact far exceeds that of its time. ——CinemaBlend.com JJ Abrams has successfully revived a classic series that is being forgotten, and although the new Star Trek is not as profound as its predecessors, it can still move audiences with its infinite vitality. ——The Dark Horizons film is exhilarating, not only achieving the most exciting moments of the series, but undoubtedly a significant milestone in the history of science fiction cinema. ——The Australian
