Description

Plot Summary

The Spanish Civil War has just ended, during a difficult period of post-war trauma. In the countryside of Catalonia, a boy named Andrew (played by Francesc Colomer) belonging to the defeated camp discovers the bodies of a father and son in the jungle. However, the authorities actually placed the blame on Andrew's father Fariol (played by Roger Casamajor), making him an innocent scapegoat. Andrew decided to act alone, find the real culprit who killed the father and son, and uncover the truth of the matter. Andrew traced all the conspiracies and lies in the adult world, allowing the young Andrew to see through this distorted world. In order to survive, Andrew had to betray his own race, and he gradually realized the terrifying demon hidden deep inside him for a long time. The film "Black Bread", directed and written by the famous Spanish director Augustin Villaroga, swept multiple awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 25th Goya Awards in Spain in 2011.
