Description

Plot Summary

The Afghanistan War broke out, and a large number of young Americans were sent to the battlefield like purgatory. They sacrificed their lives and slaughtered lives for the so-called ideals and justice. A field platoon of the US 173rd Airborne Brigade has entered the Kurengar Valley, which is said to be hiding numerous Taliban militants and is destined to become the most fiercely contested area of the war. In a battle, a soldier named John Restrepo sacrificed his life, and his close comrades were unforgettable. Eventually, a captured stronghold was named after Restrepo. They fight in the name of justice, but cannot gain the support of the local people. In the following year, the friendship among the soldiers grew stronger, while the shadows of war and death were always present... This film won the Jury Documentary Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
