Description

Plot Summary

In the summer of 2002, as the graduate student of Crater Morphology at Hokkaido University, Keiko Mizusawa (played by Yukiko Takeuchi), was about to graduate, she was particularly excited after listening to a speech on outer space satellites by Takahiro Oda (played by Toshiyuki Nishizawa), the director of the External Cooperation Office of the Institute of Space Science. Her insights and knowledge also caught the attention of Oda. Shortly thereafter, Mizusawa received an invitation to intern at the research institute. At this time, the Japanese space team led by Kenichi Sakagami (played by Masahiro Takashima) is focusing on the development of the small probe MUSES-C, which they plan to launch to collect samples from an asteroid beyond the distance between Earth and the Sun. This seemingly simple task faces unimaginable and insurmountable difficulties. After the joint efforts of the team and relevant personnel, the launch of the launcher named "Hayabusa" has finally arrived... This film is adapted from real events in Japan's aerospace industry and features three versions of the movie by 20th Century Fox, Toei, and Matsutake. This film was shot by 20th Century Fox.
