Description
Plot Summary
Marcel (played by Andr é Wilms) was once a somewhat famous writer, but with a love for freedom, he grew tired of the dull life of being a writer and came to Le Havre, where he transformed into a happy shoe polisher. The lovely and enthusiastic residents of Le Havre have helped Marcel find his spiritual home, where he lives the peaceful and stable life he dreams of. The appearance of an African boy broke Marcel's routine, and out of sympathy and instinct, Marcel took in the poor boy who was chased by the police and running away. At this critical moment, Marcel's wife Aletti (played by Kati Outinen) suffers from a serious illness and needs to rest in bed. With a fierce police officer on one side and a critically ill wife on the other, Marcel is suddenly pushed to a crossroads of fate.
