Plot Summary

In the early 1960s in Hong Kong, Mr. Liu (played by Zhang Guozhu) was originally a writer, but due to bad luck, he had to rely on writing mediocre martial arts novels and erotic novels to make a living. The reality was vastly different from the life that Mr. Liu had once pursued. Mr. Liu was so frustrated by the unavoidable circumstances of life that he returned drunk day and night, trying to numb himself and escape reality. Although he is not young, Mr. Liu still moves around aimlessly like a floating duckweed. At first, when he rented the small house, he met the 17-year-old landlord's daughter Sima Li (played by Guo Shanheng), who often seduced him. After being discovered by the landlord, he was forced to move out. There are more women coming in and out of his life, such as his confidante Zhang Lili (played by Jiang Meiyi), young dancer Yang Lu (played by Jiang Zuman)... How can Mr. Liu, who has been drugged by pornography and alcohol, save himself? The movie is adapted from the novel of the same name by Hong Kong author Liu Yitang, titled 'The Drunkard'.
