Plot Summary
Wadjda, who is twelve years old, lives in the outskirts of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Despite growing up in a traditional and conservative environment, this young girl is full of vitality - she wears jeans and sneakers and loves listening to rock music. Now there's only one thing on her mind: buy that beautiful green bike and race it with her friend Abdullah. However, according to the teachings of Wahhabism, women are not allowed to ride bicycles, especially unmarried girls, because this sport "threatens their feminine virtues"
