Plot Summary

On a peaceful morning without warning in Philadelphia, former United Nations investigator Gary Ryan (Brad Pitt) drives his wife Karen (Mireille Enos) and two daughters Rachel (Abigail Hargrove) and Connie (Sterling Jerins) out. Unexpectedly, the originally happy atmosphere quickly gave way to panic and death, with a series of explosions, panicked crowds fleeing, disorderly car accidents, and zombies gnawing on others. The bustling metropolis fell in an instant. Gary spared no effort to escape with his wife and daughter, and eventually escaped to the aircraft carrier where the United Nations Deputy Secretary General was located. He learned that several major world leaders, including the President of the United States, had died, and the zombie virus had spread globally. In order to prevent the destruction of the world, Gerry reluctantly takes on a mission to search for a solution to the crisis at the source of the virus with Harvard's virology PhD, Fasbak (played by Elyes Gabel). This is an almost hopeless and arduous journey, with the fate of the world at stake
