Plot Summary

High school student Katsuo Kato (voiced by Daisuke Ono) and his younger brother live a life of interdependence. One day, Katsuo Kato's subway station was attacked by an indiscriminate killer. In order to save his life, Katsuo Kato was stabbed several times and unfortunately died. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing intact in a strange room, with a strange black sphere in front of him. Along with Katsuo Kato, there are three other people: Reika Shimpei (voiced by Saori Hayami), Ichiro Nishizhang (voiced by Sato Kuo), and Ryoichi Suzuki (voiced by Hideyoshi Ikeda). Like Katsuo Kato, they are all dead. Leijia told Kato Sheng, who was confused, that the black sphere was called "GANTZ", and what they needed to do was to wait for the sphere to give orders. This time, the four of them were transported to Osaka, where they had to face a monster called "Slippery Lad" and a grand night out of hundreds of ghosts. Only by killing all the monsters within the time specified by GANTZ can Kato Katsuyori have the opportunity to return to his brother's side again.
