Plot Summary

Adapted from a sensational 2013 "traitor murder case" in Hong Kong, Zhang Xianzong (played by Yang Weilun) and his friend Tang Wenqi (played by Mai Peidong) killed their parents in their residence and dismembered them. The case entered the court trial process, and both of them denied the charge of murder. Two senior lawyers, Wu Guanfeng (played by Lin Haifeng) and You Jiali (played by Su Yuhua), respectively represented the two in court to defend themselves. However, prosecutor Zhu Ailun (played by Zhou Wenjian) questioned whether the two had already deployed a murder plan and that it seemed beyond doubt that they were plotting for their money. However, after the exchange of offense and defense, the two lawyers, Wu and You, displayed their respective debating talents and exposed even more confusing aspects of the case, while Tang Wenqi completely dismissed all charges when he appeared in court to defend himself. Amidst intense courtroom debates, the two defendants staged scenes of "genius" and "idiot", and the truth seemed to blur as they argued. Nine jurors from different backgrounds were engaged in a power struggle in the lounge, while also being caught up in a just debate of right and wrong.
