Description
Plot Summary
Film director Guido (played by Marcello Mastroianni) feels exhausted after completing a film and goes to a healing facility to rest while starting to brainstorm his next movie. He was troubled by nightmares, feeling lethargic and his inspiration stagnant. He invited his mistress Kara (played by Sandra Milo) to the sanatorium to accompany him, but Kara's arrival only added to his troubles. At this moment, the appearance of the vibrant young girl Claudia (played by Claudia Cardinale) brought a glimmer of hope to Guido's repressed world. However, as Guido's wife Louisa (played by Anouk Aim é e) and many film industry professionals came to the resort, Guido could no longer bear the chaos of his personal love life and the dual pressure of filming. His mental crisis intensified, and dreams and hallucinations continued to invade his real life... This film won two Oscars in 1964 for Best Foreign Language Film and Best Costume Design (Black and White).
