Plot Summary

During the Iraq War, 19-year-old technician Billy Lynn (played by Joe Alwyn) from Texas became well-known for a video he accidentally filmed. It was a small but intense encounter, in which Lynn's B squad leader (Vin Diesel) was ambushed and kidnapped by local armed militants. Lynn took the risk to rescue the squad leader and charged forward. The release of the video made him a hero admired by the American people, but few people understand what he and his comrades have experienced. In order to bury their class monitor, Class B received a brief vacation, which allowed them to be invited to participate in a football game held in Texas. Lynn's sister feels deeply guilty about a certain incident and hopes that her brother can take this opportunity to return to a normal life. And the surrounding agents, fans, big bosses, and ordinary people have various assumed understandings of war, national defense, and soldiers. The grand opening of the celebration on the field made Lin En and his comrades' hearts even heavier and more restless... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by author Ben Fountain.
