Plot Summary

This film is adapted from a true story. In 1971, a black high school and a white high school merged, and the school's football team had to be reorganized into a mixed team called the "Sun God Team". The arrival of these black people in a small town that has always been predominantly white has caused a significant shock to the local residents. Black coach Boone (Denzel Washington) became the head coach of the team. And white coach Bill (played by Will Patton) became Boone's assistant. Bill went from hostility to gradually discovering their commonalities apart from rugby. Both of them have a strong sense of justice and honor, possess strong professional ethics, and are diligent and meticulous in their work. Boone was initially ostracized by everyone, but with his own beliefs and Bill's cooperation, he trained a group of bad tempered and inattentive children into a dynamic and winning football team, successfully pushing this long losing black and white mixed American football team to the championship.
