Plot Summary
This film is adapted from the works of American author Lois Lowry, and the protagonist is a boy named Jonas who lives in a seemingly perfect community without war, disaster, or pain. Here, people's lives are arranged in an orderly manner, and they don't have to decide on jobs or spouses. Everything has already been decided by community leaders. However, there are no memories, emotions, colors, or music in this world, and people do not have the right to choose. At the age of twelve, the young Jonas (played by Brandon Thwaites) was selected as the next "memory transmitter" and trained with the previous "transmitter" (played by Jeff Bridges). In the future, he will be responsible for the memories that the entire society should have on his own. He had to endure pain, fear, and loneliness alone, while also knowing what warmth, happiness, and love meant, and thus gained an experience he had never had before. And the more he knew, the more he realized the falsehood of this world, so he had the idea of wanting to leave
