Description
Plot Summary
Jewish American woman Maria (played by Helen Mirren) seeks help from young lawyer Randy (played by Ryan Reynolds) in order to retrieve her heirloom "Portrait of Adele No. 1" that was looted by the Nazis during World War II. Randy is attracted by the extraordinary value and legendary experience of the painting and decides to accompany Maria in the pursuit of it. This was originally a just act, but they discover that the Austrian authorities are using various means to preserve the national treasure painting, which is considered the "Mona Lisa of Austria". While Maria struggles against the government machinery relentlessly, she returns to her hometown of Vienna, burying more than half a century of painful memories that once again surface in her mind...
