Description
Plot Summary
This film is adapted from the famous novel "Izu's Dancer" by Yasunari Kawabata. Kawashima (Tomohiro Miura), who is about to attend a higher education institution in Tokyo, took advantage of the summer vacation before school to travel to Izu. On the bumpy mountain road, he met a group of Kabuki performers who were on tour. He was attracted by one of the petite and delicate dancers with ancient hair buns and big drums, and decided to go on the road with them. On the way, he learned that the dancer's name was Xun (Momoe Yamaguchi). Kawashima, regardless of the lowly status of Kabuki artists, often invites them to his hotel to play. After spending time alone with Xun, he is even more shocked by her pure and flawless beauty, and falls into a conflict. He is distressed by his uncontrollable impulses and uneasy about the possibility of her being insulted during performances. In their relationship, Xun gradually developed true feelings. But the two can only be passers-by in each other's lives.
