Plot Summary

Ah Q (played by Yan Shunkai), with a sleazy figure and unremarkable appearance, is a small person in Weizhuang who makes a living by working part-time jobs. His family is so poor that they don't even have a surname. Despite this, Ah Q always felt good about himself, either looking down on the pretentious foreign devils or marrying the landlord Zhao Taiye. Of course, what is often exchanged is not respect, but contempt and even a severe beating. Fortunately, Ah Q has a self comforting 'spiritual victory method', so he, who suffered physically, can ultimately find spiritual satisfaction.
