Description
Plot Summary
The Clone Wars have been going on for three years, and the Republic is about to win. General Geffen and Count Dooku (played by Christopher Lee) of the Separatist Alliance hijack Parliament Prime Minister Palpatine (played by Ian McDiarmid) and flee. Jedi Knights Obi Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan McGregor) and Anakin (played by Hayden Christensen) are sent by the Presbyterian Church to rescue Palpatine. Anakin kills Count Dooku to rescue Palpatine, but General Geffen escapes. Anakin dreamed that his wife Amidala (played by Natalie Portman) was about to die in childbirth. Confused, he sought help from Palpatine, who took the opportunity to sow discord between Anakin and the Jedi Council. As Anakin approached Palpatine, a conspiracy against the Jedi and the democracy they defended gradually unfolded. This film was nominated for the Best Makeup Award at the 78th Academy Awards in 2006, and was also nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Visual Media Original Music, including Film and Television.
