Description

Plot Summary

In the beautiful town of Hengchun, nestled by the sea, Ah Jia (Fan Yichen), a young man whose music dreams were shattered in Taipei, watched everything coldly. Although he became a substitute postman with the help of the late father of the Chairman of the People's Congress, letters and parcels were haphazardly piled up in his room. He also did not follow the instructions of the old postman Mao Bo (Lin Zongren) to return a parcel sent from Japan that could not be delivered. Instead, he opened and examined it privately: apart from a yellowed photo of a young girl, there were several letters written 60 years ago. At that time, Japan was defeated in World War II. During the retreat of the Japanese army, a Japanese teacher in Taiwan (Naka Takasuke) abandoned his girlfriend whom he had agreed to elope with. On the way back to Japan, he turned his love and regret into words, but the letters were not sent out until his death by his daughter. Tomoko Tanaka, a Japanese girl studying and working in Taiwan, has the intention of becoming a model, but her image is considered outdated and she can only do public relations for the performance of Japanese super "healing singer" Naka Takasuke in Hengchun. As is customary, there will be a band to warm up before the performance of Zhong Xiaojie. Yuko originally contacted a Japanese band, but Min Dai insisted on using a local band. Yuko reluctantly became a work partner with several local music enthusiasts, including Ajia, who have significant differences in age, work, and personality - traffic police (Min Xiong) who lost their happy lives due to an accident, small shop assistant Shui Frog (Kuai Xiao Ying) who secretly loves the boss's wife, and precocious little girl Da (Mai Zi). Due to the lack of stage performance experience among the few people outside of Ajia, conflicts often arise when forming a temporary band, and Youzi is often infuriated. Ajia, who is the most experienced, is the most angry with her. Members of the band, Mao Bo, who has undergone frequent adjustments, and Ma Nianxian, who sells Hakka millet wine, have replaced the bassist and joined the band. Rehearsing has been difficult, and the day of Naka Takasuke's arrival in Taiwan is getting closer. Tomoko, who is completely disappointed with Ajia, has decided to give up her job in Taiwan and return to Japan, but the two have developed feelings through friction. Not long after, Youzi saw the letters from 60 years ago in Ajia's room and was completely moved by the beautiful love story. She reminded Ajia to deliver the letters to the parties involved. Although both parties did not confess their feelings, the power of love is undoubtedly enormous. Ajia regained the courage to pursue her music dream because of her friend. As the performance of Nakataka was about to begin, the address of the letter's owner was found, and Ajia was informed by Tomoko that she had received a job offer from a Japanese record company.
