Description
Plot Summary
Martin (played by Elijah Wood) comes to Oxford University for further studies in order to follow in the footsteps of his idol, logical mathematician Arthur (played by John Hurt). He found that the host, Mrs. Eagleton (played by Anna Massey), seemed to have a close relationship with Arthur, while her adopted daughter Beth (played by Julie Cox) always kept things mysterious. Later, Martin met his squash partner Lorna (Leonor Watling) and they fell in love... During Arthur's speech, Martin, as the only questioner, caught his attention. Later, the two met unexpectedly at the landlord's house and discovered that Mrs. Eagleton had been murdered. The only clue on site is a circle. The two were taken away by the police to assist in the investigation. Afterwards, some people died mysteriously, and their causes of death seemed to imply some mathematical law
