Description
Plot Summary
Steve Lopez (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is a journalist for the Los Angeles Times who was recently hospitalized due to a cycling accident. On his sickbed, he often heard beautiful violin sounds nearby, which strengthened the genius violinist Nathaniel Els (Jamie Foxx). Gradually, he discovered that Els had studied at the prestigious Juilliard School, but dropped out of school due to schizophrenia and can only make a living by performing on the streets. Lopez decided to write Els' story into a column, and he began to pay attention to Els' every move. In the process of getting to know each other, the two gradually established a deep friendship. Lopez even gave up his family and career to help Els achieve his music dream, but Els' mental illness remained a bond between the two... This film is adapted from an article published by Steve Lopez in a newspaper.
