Plot Summary

The film tells the story of the conflict between Russia and Georgia in August 2008. The 2008 South Ossetia War was a conflict that occurred within Georgian territory in August 2008, with the Georgian government on one side and the unilaterally declared independence of South Ossetia, along with its supporters Abkhazia and Russia. Since August 1st, there have been several exchanges of fire between Georgia and South Ossetia. In the early morning of August 8th, Georgia launched a comprehensive military operation and quickly controlled more than two-thirds of the South Ossetia region, surrounding its capital Tskhinvali. The Russian military entered the South Ossetia region on the 8th and quickly took control of Tskhinvali on the 9th. In the following days, they occupied Georgian territory and military bases outside of South Ossetia. Under the mediation of various international parties, Georgia and Russia signed ceasefire agreements on the 15th and 16th respectively, and the Russian military began to withdraw from Georgia on the 18th, ending the war. This war resulted in 215 deaths and 1469 injuries among the Georgian army; 74 Russian military personnel have died, 171 have been injured, 19 are missing, and approximately 1600 civilians in South Ossetia have died.
