Plot Summary

In the early 1960s, Japan, which had recovered from the heavy blow of World War II, was rapidly re establishing its position under the scrutiny of the world. Located in a small harbor town in Yokohama, the four siblings of the Matsuzaki family and their guests live an ordinary life. 16-year-old sister Hai (voiced by Masami Nagasawa) takes care of everyone's clothing, food, and daily life. In the morning, she routinely raises the signal flag praying for safe sailing. By chance, Hai met Jun Kazama (voiced by Junichi Okada), a boy from the same school's news department, adding a beautiful touch to campus life. At the same time, as the Tokyo Olympics approaches, the old building "Latin Quarter" where Jun and a group of friends reside in the school is facing the fate of demolition. In order to protect the holy land in their hearts, Jun, Hai, and fellow enthusiasts unite. During this process, a hidden affection quietly grew in their hearts, but unexpected fate stood in front of each other... This film is adapted from the manga of the same name published by Chiharu Takahashi and Tetsuro Sasama in the shoujo magazine "Good Friends" from January to August 1980.
