Plot Summary

In 2020, a not too distant year ahead, the whole world has undergone many changes. In that era, human boxing was no longer allowed, and instead various robots stepped onto the arena to continue this popular sport and delight the public. Former boxer Charlie Kenton (played by Hugh Jackman) doesn't seem so lonely, he quickly adapts to the development of the times and walks onto the boxing ring with trained robots time and time again. But one misfortune after another, he first unexpectedly lost and became heavily in debt, then received news that his ex girlfriend had suddenly become outdated, and met his son Max, an 11 year old boy (played by Dakota Goyo) whom he had never met before. An accident led Max to encounter an outdated training robot Atom. At Max's insistence, Charlie agreed to let Atom participate in the competition, but unexpectedly discovered that this "useless" not only resisted attacks, but also had the potential and talent for combat.
