Description

Plot Summary

In 1858, two years before the American Civil War. German bounty hunter Kim Schultz (played by Christoph Waltz) buys the black slave Django (played by Jamie Foxx) from a slave trader, allowing him to regain his freedom. Schultz actually wants to train Django into a lawless bounty hunter, capturing various wanted criminals for him in exchange for rewards. Jiang Ge's only condition is to rescue his wife Bloomhilda (played by Kerry Washington) from the tyrannical candy plantation owner Calvin Candy (played by Leonardo DiCaprio). This film is Quentin's tribute to the classic Italian western film "Diego" directed by Sergio Corbusi in 1966. The genius director and ruffian Quentin spent three years honing his skills, making another blockbuster after 'Shameless Bastard'. This film continues Quentin's usual low-key and luxurious style, with whimsical humor elements and bloody and wild action scenes everywhere, as well as strong group scenes and luxurious cast, making it full of highlights. "The liberated Jango" won the 85th Academy Awards - Best Original Screenplay Award, and Christopher Woltz Christoph Waltz won the best supporting actor for this film. This film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound Editing at the 85th Academy Awards.
