Description
Plot Summary
Italian film master Bertolucci (The Last Emperor) is the first feature film since 2003 and was nominated for the main competition at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The story tells of Lorenzo, a 14-year-old reclusive boy, and his half sister who is also a drug addict. They hide together in a basement, comfort each other's wounds, and emerge from the shadow of loneliness. The film magnifies the basement into a "mansion" space, and also amplifies the ambiguous atmosphere of its dark and cramped dwelling. The carefree older sister and the introverted younger brother, through the outstanding performances of the two young actors, sparked sparks of love. Will the ending scene of Truffaut's "400 Beats" evoke memories of the audience's adolescence?
