Description
Plot Summary
Twelve shell shaped unidentified flying objects suddenly appeared above the Earth, hovering over twelve different countries. Aliens sent signals to humans, but humans were unable to interpret them. The US military has found linguist Lewis (played by Amy Adams) and physicist Ian (played by Jeremy Renner), hoping that the two can collaborate to solve the language mystery of aliens. After several encounters, Louis discovered that aliens were using a very special circular script and gradually understood its mysteries. Due to the uncertainty of the true purpose of the aliens' arrival on Earth, four countries including China and Russia decided to launch an attack on them. The United States also decided to abandon research and evacuate all personnel. At this critical moment, Louis finally understood the aliens' intentions and used the special "weapon" bestowed upon her by them to change the future with her own strength.
