Plot Summary

The documentary "The Dawn Wall" first revealed its trailer, telling the story of two men who conquer the "world's most difficult cliff to climb" Dawn Wall with bare hands. The experience is passionate and inspiring [not simple]. In January 2015, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson began climbing and lived on a steep vertical cliff for several weeks, attracting worldwide media attention. For Caldwell, this was not just a climb, but also an opportunity to prove his strength: at the age of 22, Caldwell was taken hostage by Kyrgyz rebels and soon after lost his index finger in an accident. The two of them spent nearly 20 days successfully climbing Mount El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California, setting a world record for climbing the Dawn Wall by hand. Prior to this, the two spent 6 years planning their route and attempted to climb twice in 2010 and 2011, both of which ended in failure. The Dawn Wall was first conquered in 1958, and currently there are over 100 climbing routes, but no one has ever reached the summit with bare hands. Obama also congratulated the two after their success, saying 'anything is possible'. The film is directed by Josh Lowell&Peter Mortimer and will premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 11th.
