Plot Summary
The BritBox UK limited edition drama "Friends and Friends" has started filming, with Damian Lewis officially signing on and Guy Pearce replacing Dominic West. This series is adapted from Ben Macintyre's bestselling documentary work of the same name, directed by Alexander Cary, creator of Homeland, and Nick Murphy, director of Bloodborne. The story begins with the complex relationship between Kim Philby (Pearce) and MI6 colleague and close friend Nicholas Elliott (Lewis), and tells the story of Philby's betrayal as a double agent for MI6 and KGB. The cast also includes Anna Maxwell Martin, Stephen Kunken, and Adrian Edmondson. This Cold War spy thriller is considered to have the temperament of Ian Fleming and John le Carr é, but in fact, the afterword of the book is written by the spy story master John le Carr é.
