Description
Plot Summary
As Chengdu gradually becomes one of the largest and busiest cities in China, the future of Funky Town, a popular music club among local young people, is still uncertain. For a group of energetic yet often marginalized DJs, artists, drag queens, couples, revelers, and skateboarders, this is a refuge for underground parties, allowing them to revel in the dark until dawn and see the sun rise. This may be the only place where they can accept their true selves, while they evade various problems during the day. With the appearance of huge cranes around Funky Town, construction workers began to occupy every corner of the city, and these young people knew that there was not much time left for them. They will be forced to face the reasons that brought them to this club in the first place and race against time to celebrate before this treasure land becomes a subway station. Midnight Runaway "is a movie about growing up. It is a love letter to Chengdu and also praises the brevity of youth - from love to loss, from vomiting to sobriety.
