Plot Summary

Dulle (played by Samuel L. Jackson) is a disillusioned black merchant who struggles to secure a home loan in order to obtain custody of his child. At the sharing session for alcoholics, he couldn't hide his joy and his words were filled with excitement as he didn't drink at all. Kevin (played by Ben Affleck) is a white lawyer for an art foundation who once helped a wealthy individual with charitable donations. But after the old man passed away, he, under the instruction of his superiors, successively purged the old members of the foundation. This move was seen as betrayal by the old man's heir, who filed a lawsuit against him. At this moment, a car accident brought Dule and Kevin together. Their destinies changed because they took the wrong file from each other. Due to missing the date, Dule's child was sentenced to be raised by his wife, and the father and son rarely met from then on.
