Plot Summary

Nominated for Best Editing at the 20th Academy Awards, in the early 20th century port city of Belfast, Northern Ireland, a secret group of the Irish Republican Army robbed a company's cash locker. The group leader Johnny McQueen, who had just escaped from prison, also participated in this operation. After receiving the huge sum of money, Johnny was shot and injured by the guards during the melee in order to cover for someone else walking at the end. He then killed the guards. Johnny hid in a hiding place and fainted. The police searched the entire city, and Dennis and two companions sacrificed their lives in search of him. Johnny received help from the citizens. The remaining member of the secret team, Katherine, is being closely monitored. She met a poor man named Cher who made a living by selling birds at Father Tom's house. Cher discovered Johnny, and the priest is going to hand him over to the police. Cher found Johnny at the neighbor's crazy painter Ruchi's house and sought revenge at the priest's house. Katherine stopped Cher and found Johnny herself. Just as Katherine was helping Johnny escape to the port and preparing to leave by boat, the police surrounded them.
