Description

Plot Summary

Tess (played by Natasha Kinski) was born into a small farming family in rural England. One day, her father heard that they were descendants of the ancient nobleman d'Urberville. This rumor caused a dramatic change in Tess's life. Because there was a wealthy family surnamed d'Urberville who lived not far away, her parents sent Tess to visit them. Tess's beauty made the young master of the d'Urberville family, Alec (played by Leigh Lawson), harbor evil thoughts. He took away Tess's chastity and made her pregnant, but the child died shortly after birth. This tragic experience at the d'Urberville house caused Tess to lose the most valued chastity in society at the time. When she met Angel (played by Peter Firth) at the dairy and thought Angel was her lifelong partner, she was abandoned on their wedding night for telling Angel about her past. Tess, who had already given up on love and life, encountered a family upheaval at this moment. Faced with Arek's renewed pursuit, Tess had no choice. However, Tess's fate still plummeted rapidly
