Description
Plot Summary
The film is adapted from real events. From 1983 to 2005, many civilians were displaced during the war in Sudan, and the survivors were referred to as the "Lost Boys of Sudan" by rescue workers at the time. Some of them later came to the United States as refugees. In the film, Witherspoon plays Kerry, who helps four Sudanese refugees find jobs, fights for their legal rights, tries every means to reunite them with their families, and forms deep friendships with them. The director of the film, Philip Faradjo, who previously directed 'Mr. Raza', insisted on filming in Africa and allowing real Sudanese actors to act. The actor Ger in the film had lived in a refugee camp for many years, while another actor Emmanuel from Sudan said that the movie was like telling his own story.
