Plot Summary

Marx (played by James Woods) is the director of a small television station. In order to increase ratings, Marx searches for TV series with pornographic or violent content. Marx's subordinate Harlan stole satellite signals and obtained a program called "Film and Television Field", which featured realistic and rough scenes of violent abuse. After watching this program, Marx couldn't forget it and lost interest in other TV series. Radio anchor Nicki (played by Deborah Harry) has not long met Marx, and this woman with a tendency towards abuse is also attracted by the film and television industry, heading to the possible production site of Pittsburgh to participate in the production of the show. Marx visited the founder of the film and television studio, Professor Brian, under the guidance of someone, but did not see the real person. The video with Niki as the protagonist sent by the professor made Marx hallucinate. When Marx visited again, he found out that Brian had already been killed. The current film and television program is managed by Barry from Amazing Vision Company. Marx gradually fell into the trap designed by Barry and became increasingly trapped between the two forces of Barry and Brian... This film won the Best Director award at the 1984 Canadian Genie Awards.
