Plot Summary

He (Nicholas Hoult) is a zombie living in the apocalypse, vaguely remembering only the "R" in his name. Unlike conventional beliefs, as a zombie, he is able to think and still retains some memories from his lifetime. R lives on an abandoned airplane, likes to collect records and accessories, and seems no different from ordinary people except for eating people. On this day, R and his zombie friends went out foraging and encountered a group of humans who had come from the quarantine area to search for medicine in the contaminated area. After cruelly devouring the brain of young Perry (played by Dave Franco), R gains memories of him and develops feelings of sympathy and fondness for Julie (played by Teresa Palmer), the girl who accompanied Perry. He takes the girl back to his place of residence and gradually gains her trust through days of interaction, while the beautiful Julie also helps R regain the warmth and complex emotions he has long lost as a human... This film is adapted from Isaac Marion's novel of the same name.
