Plot Summary

19-year-old Andrew (Miles Teller) grew up in a single parent family with a strong desire to become a top jazz drummer. One night while practicing at school, he was spotted by his devilish mentor Fletcher (J.K. Simmons) and joined a regular band, while also starting to pay the price for pursuing perfection. The harder Andrew practices, the more isolated he becomes from the outside world.
