Description

Plot Summary

A classic Hong Kong film starring Chow Yun fat, Andy Lau, Alan Tam, Carina Lau, and Anthony Wong. In the early days of Hong Kong, there was a large influx of refugees and a mixed cast of dragons and snakes. Chaozhou native Yang Qun brought young Xiaofeng and Ahua (played by Andy Lau) to Hong Kong, only to find that his friend who was seeking refuge had just passed away, so he raised Xiaofeng, Ahua, and Liangzai alone. Years later, Liang Zai (played by Wan Ziliang) became ignorant and addicted to gambling, resulting in owing a huge sum of money. Ahua was beaten and injured in order to save him, and attracted the pursuit of black forces. With no other way out, he sought help from Zhou (played by Chow Yun fat). Zhou, due to Ah Hua's bravery and loyalty, kept him by his side and entrusted him with important responsibilities, which enabled Ah Hua to rise to great heights; Liang Zai was frivolous and impetuous, which caught Zhou's attention, but he held a grudge against Ah Hua because of it. Liang Zai colluded with a gang leader to kill a Thai drug lord (played by Li Xiuxian) who had been protected by Zhou Biao. Zhou wanted to kill Liang Zai for revenge, but only found a way out after Ah Hua pleaded for mercy. But Liang Zai didn't want to repent and instead wanted to kill Ah Hua, planning a large-scale killing spree on Zhou's wedding day
