Plot Summary

Six years ago, Leung Sum (played by Tony Leung Ka fai) bid farewell to his heartbroken lover Mei Yi (played by Anita Mui) and joined an underground party in the rear. Mei then became a nightclub singer according to Mr. Wu's (played by Tsang Kong) arrangement. In 1941, the Pacific War broke out and the world situation was turbulent. Liang Sen and his revolutionary comrades returned to the Shanghai International Settlement and witnessed the scene of five Japanese monks being brutally killed that night, with the mastermind behind the scenes being the Japanese man Shirakawa (played by Hayabusa Kunimura). Liang followed Shirakawa to the nightclub, where they engaged in a fight. Shirakawa was killed and Liang was injured in multiple places. On the occasion of recovering from his injuries, Liang Sen reunited with his lover Mei, and their old feelings continued to grow, making it difficult to let go. The death of Shirakawa intensified the conflicts within the concession, and the head of the 76th Bureau's special agents, Tie Zemin (played by Xu Shaoqiang), ruthlessly hunted down the underground party
