Plot Summary

In the summer of 1935, 13-year-old Brioni (played by Scholz Ronan) from a wealthy British family had just begun to experiment with writing and had a vivid imagination. One day, she secretly discovered an ambiguous relationship between the servant's son, Robina Turner (played by James McVoie), and her sister Cecilia (played by Kate Knightley), and discovered that he had written her a love letter full of eroticism. Brioni's rich imagination fictionalizes various terrible things, with vivid imagination. After her cousin Lola was raped, Brioni was quite certain that she saw it was Robbie who did it. This testimony led to Robbie being wrongly imprisoned, leaving Cecilia heartbroken. The Second World War broke out, and after being released from prison, Robbie and Cecilia both devoted themselves to defending their country. Brioni gave up studying at Cambridge and became a military medical worker. No one can understand her actions, only she knows that she carries a huge secret and self blame. She mustered up the courage to unravel the secret, so that she could truly redeem herself and receive forgiveness. However, the world changed unexpectedly, beyond Brioni's budget.
