Description

Plot Summary

This film is a remake of the 1984 Hollywood movie of the same name. 12-year-old Derek Parker (Jaden Smith) moved with his mother (Taraji P. Henson) from Detroit to Beijing, China, and met a Chinese girl named Meiying (Han Wenwen) who plays the violin at the same school. The relationship between Derry and Meiying has caused dissatisfaction among a small group led by Cheng (played by Wang Zhenwei) in the school. In a fight, Derry, who is at a disadvantage, is saved by the apartment administrator Lao Han (played by Jackie Chan), but he offends Cheng's martial arts teacher Master Li (played by Yu Rongguang). Lao Han and Master Li agreed that their disciples would compete in a martial arts competition. From then on, Derry learned Chinese Kung Fu from Lao Han, from practicing boxing and martial arts to personal cultivation, gradually understanding the true meaning of martial arts and life. At the same time, he also established a deep friendship with Lao Han. But can Derry, who only has short-term training, defeat Cheng in the brutal martial arts competition and achieve ultimate victory?
