Plot Summary

In Major League Baseball (MLB), Billy (Brad Pitt)'s Oakland Athletics lost to the wealthy New York Yankees, which dealt him a heavy blow. To make matters worse, three key players have been heavily poached, and their future prospects for the season are bleak. At the management meeting, everyone was confused, only he secretly made up his mind to transform the team. By chance, he met Peter (played by Jonah Hill), a master of economics from Yale University, and their ideas on team operations coincided. With intuition and experience, he seemed to have found the key to cracking the golden baseball. He hired Peter as his advisor to work together on how to build the team with the highest winning rate. They gradually began to explore potential stars with high base rates through mathematical modeling, and recruited them to their ranks through trial and error. They don't care about the ridicule of the higher ups, they just focus on finding the source of confidence and strength for the team, and finally a new season begins... The film is adapted from Michael Lewis' Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.
