Plot Summary

What kind of changes have taken place in the leading coastal areas of China over the past 30 years of reform and opening up? Taking stock of the natural and cultural landscapes in the coastal areas of Chinese Mainland and recording the real life status of coastal people, the large-scale series of special program "Coastal Travel" launched by CCTV-4 "Home in the Distance" shows the latest achievements of reform and opening up in China's coastal areas from the perspective of tourism programs, and introduces to audiences at home and abroad the style of China's most cutting-edge, open, affluent and innovative coastal areas. The program adopts a convoy travel method, starting from Dandong, Liaoning, and traveling clockwise along the Chinese coastline to Fangchenggang, Guangxi. It crosses 10 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities including Liaoning, Hebei, Tianjin, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, and Guangxi, covering a distance of over 18000 kilometers. 100 episodes of the program are produced, each lasting 45 minutes, depicting a panoramic picture of the natural scenery, historical culture, folk customs, and social development of China's coastal areas from a tourism perspective. Echoing the "Coastal Travel" and "Frontier Travel", it completed the task of walking a circle along the territory of Chinese Mainland. The large-scale special program series' Coastal Tour 'mainly passes through cities such as Dandong, Dalian, Yingkou, Jinzhou, Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Tianjin, Dongying, Yantai, Weihai, Qingdao, Rizhao, Lianyungang, Nantong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Xiamen, Shantou, Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, Beihai, Qinzhou, Fangchenggang, etc. The filming team selected 100 coastal cities and covered the surrounding towns and rural areas. They selected the most distinctive local materials and adopted the production techniques of the current large-scale series special program "Frontier Tour".
