Description

Plot Summary

After the end of World War II, a nation was completely divided into two countries with different systems, which also made the wandering people in foreign lands long for their hometowns. In the 1970s, Song Hao (played by Shinichi Inoue), a Korean born in Japan since childhood, returned to his hometown of North Korea according to his father's orders to support the construction of the communist cause. Who would have thought that this separation would be a quarter of a century, when Matsumoto started a family in his hometown, and his beloved little sister Rie (played by Sakura Ando) also grew up. On this day, news of joy and sadness came simultaneously. Due to illness, Song Hao received special approval from the government to go to Japan for a three-month treatment. A family reunited after a long separation, as well as former friends and relatives, complex emotions spread in each other's hearts... This film is adapted by Japanese Korean female director Liang Yingji based on her family's true experiences, and won the first place in the 2012 Film Weekly Top Ten Films and the Best Actress Award (Sakura Ando).
