Plot Summary

In the eyes of everyone, Tom (played by Jason Segel) and Violet (played by Emily Blunt) are a perfect match made by heaven and earth. After a year of love sprinting, they both consider themselves the people who know each other best in the world, and the two get engaged in lightning fast. Violet yearns for a perfect family, but also hopes to have her own career. She has received a coveted position at the University of Michigan, but the prerequisite is that Tom must give up his current job and move to Michigan together. Tom agreed, but life in Michigan was not as good as he had imagined. On the one hand, with his strong professional skills, he could only find a barely living job at a snack shop. On the other hand, Violet had repeatedly achieved success in the workplace, and the distance between the two was getting farther and farther. The conflict escalated as Violet rose through the ranks, and their wedding was postponed year after year. Just as they were determined to hold their wedding, a kiss from a third party left an irreparable wound on their relationship.
