Plot Summary

Around 130 AD, the powerful and prosperous Roman Empire was under the rule of Hadrian (played by Masanobu Ichimura), and the trend of bathing among the Roman people was prevalent, with public baths being particularly popular among the general public. With the rise of luxury, the simple and rustic design style of bathhouse designer Lucius Murdstedt (played by Hiroshi Abe) is gradually being neglected. One day, he unexpectedly traveled to 21st century Japan through a public bathhouse. This group of people, known as the "flat faced tribe" by Lucius, was ashamed and admired for their advanced and innovative soup culture. Afterwards, he traveled through time and space multiple times, bringing innovative ideas from Japanese bathhouses to ancient Rome. As a result, he rose to fame and even gained the appreciation and favor of Hadrian. During this process, the Hadrian dynasty came to an end, and the seemingly flashy but impractical Kainius (played by Kazuki Kitamura) became the new emperor. Lucius refused to design a bathroom for Kainius, and his fate came to a new crossroads... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by manga artist Mari Yamazaki.
