Description
Plot Summary
This film is adapted from the story of famous baseball player Jackie Robinson. He was born on January 31, 1919 and passed away on October 24, 1972, becoming the first black player in the history of Major League Baseball in the United States. On April 15, 1947, he wore the number 42 jersey and played as a starting first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Prior to his debut, black players were only allowed to play in their own Negro Leagues. Although slavery had long been abolished in the United States at that time, many regions still implemented racial segregation policies, and ubiquitous racial prejudice still strongly influenced various social classes. Therefore, the day Robinson stepped onto the stage of the Major League was recognized as one of the most important events in the history of the modern American civil rights movement.
