Plot Summary

Actors Sasaki Zangnosuke and Hiroshi Nagasawa have recently confirmed that they will star in the movie "Diary of a Couple" directed by Hiroshi Maeda. The Diary of a Couple "tells the story of a couple who discover their wife has cancer after getting married and fight the disease for 493 days. It is a deeply moving emotional masterpiece. In the movie, Sasaki Zangnosuke and Hiroshi Nagasawa play a long-distance relationship of 17 years, finally getting married and discovering that their wife is pregnant one month after marriage. Five months later, they discover that their wife has cancer. Sasaki Zangnosuke plays a husband who records his 493 days of raising children and helping his wife fight against illness in the form of a diary. This story is adapted from the novel "Diary of a Cancer Couple", which was compiled from a blog in 2011. During the filming of the movie, some changes were made to the setting compared to the original novel. The original author, Hiroshi Shimizu, was also very satisfied with the casting of the couple and specifically pointed out that it was his greatest pleasure to have Hiromi Nagasawa play his wife. Sasaki and Hiromi Nagasawa's feelings matched well, and he hoped that the film could rewrite a new and deeply moving family story.
